Mr. Starkey was one of the early programmers on the HMS system but eventually moved on to become CIO at Community Health Systems, Behavioral Healthcare Corporation and then Ardent Health, all based in Nashville. In those positions, he was able to gain a first-hand perspective on the financial and clinical needs of the community and specialty hospital markets. Mr. Starkey re-joined HMS in 2005 as the Vice President of Research and Development. Now, as the COO, he oversees and manages all daily HMS operations including Product Development, Programming, Quality & Assurance, Customer Support & Services, Documentation and Implementation.
