Closing out the 2008-2009 (FY), we wanted to share with our reader’s positive reviews that the Middle Tennessee area has received the past two years. Nashville has received a lot of recognition nationwide for our many accomplishments. The list below is a great way to measure ourselves and provide motivation for the community for the next fiscal year to be even better. Nashville ranks number one as the Manliest city in America in a COMBOS(R) study. The high number of hunters and fishers in the area and the popularity of NASCAR helped Nashville reel in the top spot.

The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County was ranked 9th in the top ten 250,000 or more population category in the 2008 Digital Cities Survey.
• Vanderbilt University Medical Center Ranks 15th as Best Hospital; Nashville; U.S. News
The Vanderbilt University Medical Center was ranked 15th in a study by U.S. News magazine of the best hospitals. Advanced technologies, nursing staff, discharges, and patient services were included in the criteria used for rankings.
