The Nashville Tech Story (7/20/09)
Members of the Nashville Technology Council and the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce visited with companies in San Francisco and Silicon Valley last week. It was an engaging two days where we met with tech entrepreneurs, networking companies, music tech, storage solutions, and the largest spirits company in the world.
The event was anchored by the Corona Sun City Carnival and Kenny Chesney 2009 Tour. The weather cooperated and it was good night for country music. It was lots of fun and we created some new tech connections with companies in San Francisco.
We all need to reach out to our networks and bridge the gap between awareness and preference for Nashville as a tech destination. We are building a wonderful tech community in Nashville. I was amazed at the number of companies who are looking across our great nation for new locations for headquarters, data centers, and operations centers. We need to create awareness of Nashville and work hard to bring new companies to the area. We have a competitive advantage on cost of living and our quality of life can stack up against anyone.
