Brentwood-based Mercury Intermedia builds iOS, Android and WP7 mobile apps for newspapers such as USA TODAY, the New York Times, Boston Globe and Atlanta Journal Constitution; and television news channels such as CNN, Fox News and Univision. Their apps have been downloaded more than 20 million times by persons across the globe and distribute over 35 billion stories/year…as many as several hundred million during single news-event days.
Nashville’s Bill Tallent, CEO of Mercury Intermedia, will keynote this years mobile conference and discuss the dramatic transformation to mobile publishing the news business is experiencing. The title of his address is “Deciphering Disruption – Skating to Where The Puck Will Be”. It includes practical advice he offers publishers for building highly effective mobile apps, advice that applies equally to all industries.
Bill has roots at Genesco where he worked for 20 years before launching a series of small businesses, some of which have had a national impact such as Mercury Intermedia and Telco Research. Bill is a graduate of Western Kentucky State University.
