A final “Thank You” to Tod Fetherling

Posted by: jhill  /  Tags: , ,

The best leader is the one who has sense enough to pick those who can do what needs to get done, but has enough self-restraint to keep from meddling with them while they do it. The staff of the Technology Council would like to thank that leader, Tod Fetherling. We call him our leader because, unlike a boss who says “Go”, Tod is a leader that says “Let’s all Go”. As a leader, he made us all strive to consistently do better work than we ever thought was possible. We hope to make him proud in the years to come as the Technology Council continues to grow.

We know many have thanked Tod since hearing that he was starting a new phase of his career and stepping down from his role at the Technology Council. We felt it was time for us to profess our thanks and gratitude for the years of leadership one last time. Tod has rare combined gifts of wisdom, fairness and humor and his daily presence in our office will be greatly missed. We cannot thank him enough for the hard work he has put in, as well as the support, guidance, and encouragement that he provided all of us.

He has fostered a wonderful tech community that will no doubt strive as a result of his time here. We know Tod will continue to be a integral part of the Technology Council in the years to come. We wish him the best of luck in his new adventure!

We would like to end with this thought: “One measure of leadership is the caliber of people who choose to follow you.” I think we can all agree that you have many, many people in Nashville and beyond who will continue to follow you, seek your advice and work with you for many years to come.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
